I was thinking about how I approach writing, how I approach what we call blogging now (aka content marketing).
It’s just not the same. I’ve noticed the posts where I have to tone down “Tris”, they don’t seem to have the same impact as the ones where I can be a little more free.
Now I get it, the era of the big-name bloggers is over. And that’s for the best.
Those days weren’t driven by meeting your audience’s needs, helping them achieve their goals, as it was “being a voice”.
But, I think we need to bring some balance back to our writing, to our blogging, to content marketing. I think it’s okay to show more personality in our posts.
I think we can connect with our audience in a more human way and still do all the things we set out to achieve in our content marketing strategies.
Who would you rather listen to, a dry announcer telling you the best tips for using an app, or a friend talking with you over a coffee or beers?
We all know the answer instinctually. Now let’s do it.
We’ve lost our authenticity, and we need to get it back.
