And I thought I was the only one who jumped when the phone rang thinking "What *is* that strange sound?  Oh, the *phone*!"
I definitely prefer e-mail and IM to phone calls.  My wife and I IM between my and her home offices.  The phone is great and I often "resort" to it when the idea is too complex to type that much.  But I can related to the sunglasses anecdote in the article.
