Sometimes a great web metrics comes around that I know most people can wrap their heads around.  This is one of those articles.  Here's the skinny.  Develop meaningful Key Performance Indicators (they could've actually spelled out the acronym a little sooner) that help you gauge your site's success.  Downloads to sales, whitepapers, page views/session, etc.  Then report them clearly and sucintly.  Man where was this article three years ago?
