LinkCollector (the "Extension") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled when you use the Extension.

LinkCollector is designed to function entirely within your browser.

*   **Local Storage Only**: All data you collect using the Extension—including URLs, page titles, and text snippets—is stored exclusively on your local device using the `chrome.storage.local` API.
*   **No Personal Information**: We do not collect your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifiable information.

## 2. Data Transmission

*   **No External Servers**: LinkCollector **does not** send any data to external servers, cloud services, or developer-controlled databases.
*   **No Analytics**: We do not use any tracking scripts, cookies, or analytics tools to monitor your behavior.

## 3. Third-Party Access

*   **No Data Sharing**: Since your data never leaves your device, it is not shared with, sold to, or accessible by any third parties.
*   **NotebookLM Export**: When you use the "Copy to Clipboard" or "Download Markdown" features, your data is handled by your operating system's clipboard or file system. You choose when and where to paste or upload that information (e.g., into NotebookLM).

## 4. Permissions

The Extension requests the following permissions for the sole purpose of providing its core functionality:

*   `storage`: To save your research items locally.
*   `activeTab`: To read the title and URL of the page you are currently viewing.
*   `contextMenus`: To allow you to right-click and save selections.
*   `scripting`: To capture text snippets you have highlighted on a page.
*   `downloads`: To allow you to export your research as a Markdown or CSV file.
