Next Saturday (November 2nd) I’m teaching my Building, Managing, and Maintaining a WordPress.org-base website class at UBC Robson square. This is a hands on class where all you need to know is how to use WordPress in general (DIY or WordPress.com) to be able to follow along. This is course is designed for people have a website running DIY WordPress (WordPress.org-based, not WordPress.com-based) website who want to understand more about how to run, manage, maintain, and customize their website. It’s a full day of best practices, tips, tricks, and easy customizations (most of which you don’t need to know how to code to use).
The class agenda covers installing WordPress, getting the right settings for WordPress, installing plugins, installing themes, and customizing your site. Since the class is limited to 25 people, there will be time to answer your specific site questions, challenges, and problems. I always plan time before the end of the day for a “Ask me anything about WordPress” session so everyone leaves the class with their burning questions answered.
This class grew out of my introductory class and was originally designed to teach theme customization and coding, as I taught the class I discovered that what many site owners need to know is how to manage and maintain the site day-to-day. That’s what this class is all about.
Enroll through UBC Continuing Studies and if you have any questions about the class feel free to email me at tris AT trishussey DOT com. I hope to see you next Saturday!
