Doing a little catching up this afternoon…and what a better way to start than with an article about how to break out of bloggers block?
Part of bloggers block, I think, is feeling like you have to write something or your readers will get miffed and take their rss readers elsewhere. I'm trying to relax a bit and try to write here on this site a couple times a week. Since I'm already blogging for InsideBlogging everyday, my writing muscles are getting a workout already.
The WebProNews article that I've linked to below suggests these five things to do to break the block.
1- Talk about what you've already talked about2- Talk about what someone else is talking about3- Have yourself a good rant4- Feature someone, something or somewhere5- Let someone else talk for a change
Myself I always suggest to new bloggers to just write about something that you're interested in at the moment. I don't be concerned that it's “off topic” for the blog. I've written some great stuff that is off topic on here, and just getting the words out and flowing helps break the block. But I can't stress enough, my feeling that it's pressure to write that causes the block. So just relax. Find a cool link and write about. Who knows, it could be your most popular article!
