Leaving Salt Spring for the last time

Categories:  Random Bits

Yesterday I dropped off my kids on Salt Spring, for the last time.  They are moving this week to Ontario, so after 8 years, yesterday was the last time I have to set foot on that island.

A touch sad, but sometimes you have to have a few “lasts” to make room for more “firsts”—and I’m going to have a bunch of firsts coming up, let me tell you.

Ouch. Hopefully lots of b5media in-person training needed in Ontario soon!

Tris, I LOVE Salt Spring Island! I felt wistful when we left there after a vacation over ten years ago. I’ve wanted to return ever since, and to Victoria, where you live. Such beautiful places, the islands off of the west coast of Vancouver!

We will be back to both Salt Spring Island and Victoria, and I wish you the best in this transition with your children.

@Robert, don’t worry, I’m moving out to Toronto next month.

@Cathryn, yeah it’s nice. Last refuge of the North American hippie. Like Boulder, CO it’s an island surrounded by reality. I’m not really going to miss Salt Spring much. Victoria, yes. BC’s climate — certainly.

I love Toronto, too! Great city, another place I hope to visit again soon. Best to you and your whole family, Tris.
